Gulu University, Friday 26th September 2025 – As the Regional School ICT Club competitions continue, the Northern Regional ICT Club Competitions were held in Gulu City at Gulu University. Ten secondary schools from districts including Koboko, Lira, Adjumani, Kwania, Masindi and Zombo districts converged to showcase their innovations and technological talent in what has become one of the most anticipated student ICT events of the year.
Their presentations included projects about AI Translation, Digital School attendance and information systems, and platforms that encourage the use of ICT for development. These projects not only celebrated innovations from young people but also served as a platform for students to exchange ideas, sharpen their problem-solving skills, and gain exposure to real-world ICT challenges, highlighting their potential in shaping an ICT-driven future. Mr. Moses Wamanga, the ICT Club Competitions coordinator from KAWA in collaboration with ISBAT University encouraged the participants to ensure that they strive to lead and do it with excellence in the use of ICTs for innovation. Lira Town College emerged as winners in this competition.
As the regional competitions progress, the winning teams will advance to the national stage, where they will represent their regions at the National Conference on Communications.
