Launch of the 9th National Conference on Communications

August 1, 2025 - The Commission has officially launched the 9th edition of the National Conference on Communications (NCC 2025) at its headquarters in Bugolobi. This annual flagship conference, proudly sponsored by UCC, provides a strategic platform for academia, industry, government, and students to engage in meaningful dialogue on critical issues shaping Uganda's digital ecosystem.


Scheduled for October 2025, this year's event is being organized in partnership with ISBAT University and Gulu University. NCC continues to play a pivotal role in advancing research, innovation, and sustainable ICT development in Uganda, aligning with UCC's broader mandate of facilitating digital transformation across the country.


Speaking at the launch, UCC Executive Director emphasized the importance of research and innovation in addressing complex societal challenges. "As scientists, researchers, academics, and innovators, we must remain focused on generating solutions to the complex problems facing our society, Whether through disruptive technologies or progressive policies, research remains the backbone of successful digital transformation," he noted.


He reaffirmed UCC's commitment to acting as a facilitator and enabler of ICT development, in pursuit of a digitally inclusive economy that benefits all Ugandans.
