Young Innovators Shine at Eastern Regional ICT Club Competitions

Busoga College Mwiri, Friday 19th September 2025 – The atmosphere was electric as the Eastern Regional ICT Club Competitions kicked off at the iconic Busoga College Mwiri. Fourteen secondary schools converged to showcase their creativity, passion, and technological talent in what has become one of the most anticipated student ICT events of the year.

From mobile applications, robotics, electronics to digital solutions for agriculture, students demonstrated how innovation is no longer the preserve of big tech companies but also thriving in Uganda’s classrooms.

In her remarks, Eng. Rebecca Mayanja, the NCC Chair praised the students for their ingenuity, urging them to keep developing home-grown solutions:

_“The future of Uganda lies in your hands. With ICT, you can design solutions that respond directly to our people’s needs, and in doing so, accelerate our journey towards national development.”_
